When hosting an event with us, authors can expect:

When Should You Reach Out?
We recommend contacting us as early as possible. Most events are scheduled at least three months in advance to allow sufficient time for planning, marketing, and coordination. Early inquiries provide the best opportunity to secure preferred event dates.

Event Consideration Guidelines
Romance-Focused Titles
As a specialty romance bookstore, we primarily consider romance and romance-adjacent fiction featuring strong romantic storylines.
Publication Status
Books must already be published or have a confirmed publication date prior to the event.
Book Availability at Sol y Luna Bookshop
Due to the number of event requests we receive, priority is generally given to books currently stocked in our store, scheduled for future stocking, or actively under review through our submission process. This helps us effectively promote events and ensure a strong fit for our readership. If your book is not currently being considered, please complete our Author Submission Form for review.
Author Promotion
Authors are expected to actively support event marketing through their own platforms, including social media, newsletters, websites, and reader communities. Collaborative promotion helps maximize attendance and engagement.
Distribution Requirements
Books must be available through Ingram, a traditional publishing house, or direct author purchase at standard wholesale terms (typically a 40% wholesale discount).
Sales & Inventory Information
- All event-day book sales are processed by Sol y Luna Bookshop.
- For books supplied directly by the author, our standard revenue split is 30% to the bookstore and 70% to the author.
- We track all sales throughout the event and provide final sales reporting afterward.
- Following the event, Sol y Luna Bookshop may also choose to purchase remaining unsold inventory brought by the author.
